According to a 2017 Ineris study, the cigarette butt is hazardous waste. Composed of more than 2,500 toxic compounds, it is also at the origin of 16% of fires, it is essential to capture this waste before it ends up on the ground. The butt is very light waste (30 grams on average). Because of its weight, with the wind and the rain, it ends its life in the sewers and rainwater networks that flow into the seas and oceans.
Collecting and recycling cigarette butts by installing zero butt spaces is therefore fully in line with the “Corporate Social Responsibility” plan, and in the environmental and social measures and actions to be taken.
